Thanks for posting. Maybe you or your readers can solve a mystery for me: why are Pournelle's books almost exclusively collaborations? Not that they're bad - in particular I enjoyed Footfall and Lucifer's Hammer, but this aspect of his authorship always stuck out to me.

I've always wondered about that too. He writes a lot with Niven, sometimes with a third person thrown into the mix. I've never read a book written solely by Pournelle, although King David's Spaceship is on my to-read list. He's also edited a lot of military SF short story collections. But I'm as baffled as you are.
